MP3 burning help please. Have created several mp3 files and want to create a cd to play on MP3 players.

As stated, I am hoping that I can simply burn the MP3 files onto a cd-r and that will be useable on a MP3 player.
Am i missing something here?

At present I do not have an MP3 player (reason for the question), but I have burned 20 files (300mb) onto a cdr and it will auto play on my computer. But will it play on a MP3 player?

I have converted lecture cassette tapes to MP3 files using Audiograbber 1.81 software, which takes the line-in wave directly from my cassette player and makes MP3 files using Lame encoder. That worked really well.

In NERO, if I would select "create and audio cd", that option only allows 3, 10Mb mp3 files per 700mb cdr disc.
So I just burned the files as data. Will they play in a MP3 player?

OK, then the easiest way is to use the wizard in Nero to make a Data CD layout.
Find the MP3s in the right hand pane and drag them to the left.
Once you are happy with the layout hit the burn icon at the top.

MP3 files are Data so it should be no problem. I do this with Nero all the time.

Yes, just make sure that you've selected a Data CD.

Nero will silently convert your MP3 cd's to raw audio if you select "audio CD" instead. It's certainly a nice feature, but I've accidentally selected the wrong target type once or twice and been quite confused when I could only add about 10 Mp3's to the CD...

There are many, many more subtle issues like what file naming format to use. Iso compliant? Level 1 or Level 2? Joliet names or not? Many MP3 CD players are picky about the way these options are set. My car's in-dash MP3 CD Player, for instance, doesn't like Joliet file names under certain circumstances.
