Is there a program that can convert MP3s to a lower bitrate? I have tried MusicMatch, but it crashes in Win2K even though it says it supports it.

Strange..I haven't had any problems with MusicMatch on W2K..one way of getting a lower bitrate is to use Winamp to decode the MP3 into a WAV and then using the MULTITUDE of WAV->MP3 encoders out there and encoding into the lower bitrate..but I'm sure you figured this out didn't you!? :) Regards

The problem is that right when I launch the program, I get a message saying the program caused a system error and a log is being created.

Yes, I figured out the second part, but I have a bunch of MP3s to process and that would take a while. Oh well, I'll just boot Win98 and do it from there.

Can that convert MP3s to a lower bitrate? I only see the option to create MP3s from wave files.
