I posted this in the correct forum but know that the real 'gurus' hang out here....



Unfortunately my Sound card, a fortissimo III 7.1, forces me to restart if I want to switch between PCM out via optical or 'audio source' via optical which allows for DD and DTS for DVD's...but not any two channel PCM material...this is a pain in the neck.


Basically, is there any free sofware 'encoder' that will let me listen to my Mp3's in the 'audio source' mode by encoding it in DD or something like that? Isn't this sort of what the nforce 2 boards do btw?
