Mp3 Alarm Clock...

I'm throughly sick of hearing that damn <beep> <beep> <beep> of my alamr in the morning, and all the local radio stations *that I can stand* have irritating, cheery mroning shows. Does any manufacturer make a standalone wireless MP3 streaming alarmclock, that can just play a .pls or .m3u playlist in a shared folder on my desktop's HD in the other room?

Edit: To clarify, I'm looking for a STAND ALONE unit, to replace my existing alarm clock w/o putting a PC in my bedroom (hot enough in there already in LV in the summer)

if u leave ur pc on at night and sleep near it (which geek doesnt?), then there are mp3 alarms for ur pc... 😀

Winamp has a few alarm clock plugins if you want to try them.

I use em from time to time when i really HAVE to wake up.

No idea, but I have an old beat up G4 Titanium that I've retired (woohoo dual G5 tower!), and now keep by my bedside running an "mp3 alarm clock" program. Works just fine!

PC != in bedroom.

MS has a Plus! package with an alarm clock that does all sorts of stuff.

See edited OP.

I'm looking for a physical unit that will do this, not software.

There is a program called 'CollegeAlarmClock' or similar. I have it at home and it works great.

i've tried that prog, it's pretty cool. it's handy cuz u can set a diff wakeup time everyday which is good for college.

the only thing i dont like about pc alarm clocks is that i'm worried i might forget and turn off the pc the night before, or turn down the volume knob (no annoying AIM beeps at 3am)

Is it possible to have your computer turn its volume up and down at specified times, maybe with scheduled tasks? Mute at midnight and un-mute at 6am for the alarm?

You could always...close AIM...

But please reread the OP...that's not what I'm looking for.

haha...I clicked on this thread to recommend the same thing. I've been using it since I was in college, and I still use today to wake me up in the morning. I need my Logitech Z-560 cranked to wake myself up....no beep-beep alarm clock can do it. 😛

A proper geek would just use scheduled task to launch an mp3 app and automatically play via command line.

Sorry, didn't see the streaming part. I don't think I understand exactly what you want, but it appears to be something that can connect using a wireless network and poke around on your hard drive, then choose an mp3 to play??

if u have a MP3 player with an alarm u can hook up some speakers to it and use tat as ur alarm clock

Read the OP...NO PC in the room.
