I'm curious what people have done with the AMP 1200... how far they've taken it, what motherboard they were using, how many microns, what stepping, etc... I have a Tyan Thunder that I'll finally be getting some processors for; it'll be the 1200's regardless (price is too sweet), but I'm wondering what successes and failures people have had. Finally, is this model: AHX1200AMS3C of the AMP 1200 a .13 micron part?

I didn't look at the stepping, but my MP1200s were later ones bought @ NewEgg (When they were $72/pc). Still the ceramic Thunderbird style though. After recieving my golden sockets today, my MP1200s are cruising along at a very nice 1466MHz each, standard voltage and air cooling.

they are factory unlocked so that unlocking would not be a problem
from what i saw some oc'ed pretty well

just make sure you have some aftermarket cooling if you want to take it to its limits (especially when you start getting high voltages, possibly volt mods)
