Using the new Yahoo email-based sign-in feature you can sign in to any website that supports Persona without creating a username or password — you just drop in your Yahoo email address and you’re done.

This 'feature' can die before it starts afaic. Same reason I have no interest logging into sites by using facebook credentials would be why I'd have no interest using my email provider for logging in. On the other hand, I'm sure yahoo and google would love provide users this option.

Every attempt to make a unified login has failed because every big player wants to control the unified login system.

Also, "one login to rule them all" also means "one login to compromise", unless they've come up with something truly innovative.
