I am going to be installing a new hard drive along with a fresh install of WinXP soon. I dont want to lose all of my emails so I was wondering if there was a file that contains, or option in Thunderbird to get all my messages. Then I could just burn that to a CD and import them after I get up and running with the new hard drive.

c:\documents and settings\username\Application Data\thunderbird maybe? It's something like that, but I don't have thunderbird loaded on this machine, so I'm not positive.

Ok, I think I got it, I'll just backup the entire 'mail folder' in the location you listed.
Thanks!

I've done that on other platforms and it's worked just fine. To test it out you could close thunderbird, move the mail folder, start thunderbird, check it. Then shutdown, move the folder back, and start it back up.
