I just started using Mozilla Thunderbird with my Yahoo! Mail account. When I go to Thunderbird and download all my emails I can see my inbox just fine. But when I go to my internet browser and check my e-mail, all the e-mails I downloaded were gone. Is there any way to put those emails back? Better yet, is there any way I could view my mail in Thunderbird while still keeping the emails on my account without downloading?

There should be an option in the Thunderbird account settings that tell it to "leave a copy of the email on the server" or something to that effect. Standard configuration for most mail clients is to delete the email from the server once it has been downloaded. Keep in mind that they won't be "synchronized" when using POP3, you're just making copies of them for local reading. There may be another setting that tells it to delete the mail from the server if you delete it in Thunderbird, so check that if you want it to do so. Mail you send from thunderbird will NOT be stored in the Yahoo Sent Email folder in all likelihood.

I don't know of any way to easily restore mail to a server once it's downloaded.

Go into Tbird's either Options or Account Settings and enable the option to leave copies of messages on the POP server. That way you should see the same messages in Yahoo webmail and Tbird.

I don't think you can upload the messages that Tbird downloaded into locally stored folders back into your Yahoo account. If you were using Tbird with an IMAP mail server, you could, but not POP3.
