What is the difference between, Mozilla and Mozilla Firebird. Why would you use one over the other???

Firebird is just a browser, mozilla inludes mail and all that other stuff.. The firebird interface is cleaner. Firebird takes less space. Firebird has better out-of-the-box defaults.

Mozilla is a whole suite of Internet tools - mail, news, web, html editor, chat, etc. Firebird is just a web browser - the interface and preferences are focussed on being a great browser and nothing else. Try them both and see what you prefer. Personally, I love Firebird - it pains me to use anything else at this point.

Firebird is a slimmed down Mozilla. No mail client + no calender = faster browser.

Basically, the developers felt that Mozilla was too bulky for its own good, so they are now working on splitting it into smaller programs. Firebird is a preview of the future browser, and works quite well for a beta program. Thunderbird will be the separate mail client, and Sunbird will be the calender program.

Eventually, Mozilla will become these separate parts.

The only reason not to use Firebird is that it is still not completely stable. I primarily use Firebird, but keep Mozilla around just in case.

Mozilla is like the Whole Voltron crew united
Firebird is just one cat in the body.
