Never had ANY problems with Firefox. With IE I got spyware sh|t all the time and I was careful too. I constantly had to fix my sister's computer. Everytime I would get on there she'd have about 10 new search bars stacked on top of each other, tons of popups, added bars on the taskbar, tons of new icons and favorites, 100's of adware cookies, comet cursor, and god only knows what else. I finally said fvck it and removed all links to IE on her computer and installed Firefox. No problems since.

IE = crap.

Ok, so we know software isn't perfect. IE is far from perfect. Mozilla is far from perfect. Can't we all get over that fact now?

Let's debate who is doing less about security: Microsoft or Linux

That will be an awfully short debate.

MS

/debate over

😉

Nah, it would be a bit more involved than that. Think of the Linux and Microsoft camps. There would be :cookie:s and "nuh uh"s all over the place.

LOL, you're right, the question is if this forum needs another vs thread. 😛

You can never have enough vs threads.

Stop going to pr0n and warez sites, stop clicking on the "Install this software-->Yes" button every time it pops up (ie: Gator). Then you'll have no problems.

Been using IE since 4.0 and haven't had any spyware that I haven't installed on purpose (gamespy was about the only one). Ditto for virii.

Point is - learn what you're doing and you won't get slammed. Same thing as real life folks.

A buddy of mine simply refuses to use Firefox because he claims you're supporting AOL. :roll:

If that's not enough, he uses Winamp! Oh the horror.

Mozilla will get "attacked" more frequently now as more people jump ship. It's that simple.

If 50% of the users were on MAC OS, there would be far more viruses attacking this platform. People that ASSume one platform is inferior to the other based on how many patches are out are wrong.

Virus authors are vandals. Think as you are one for a minute. Do you write a virus for the MAC OS that could impact all 50 users 😉 or do you write one for Windows that affects millions? The choice is obvious even for the mathematically challenged.

Cheers!
