I've been using FF 1.0.6 for awhile now. But recently I realized it doesn't display Java correctly. I have Java enabled and installed to the latest version but ATI.com doesn't display properly.

On the main page its supposed to display the Radeon 9600 MAC Edition and then fade to the next ad about Back To School. With IE it does that, but with Firefox it just gets stuck on te Mac ad and doesn't transfer to the Back to school ad. This happens on other sites aswell.

Anyone else experience this or know how to fix it?

Thanks

Can't say I've noticed it. Maybe ATI needs to test on multiple browsers, since such capability can work in Firefox, AFAIK.

There is no java on that page at all.

The effect in question seems to be caused by this piece of css:
filter:progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.Wipe(duration=1.5, wipeStyle=0, gradientsize=0.25, motion=reverse );
which is obviously a non-standard IE-specific extension. If you want to fix the problem, write a letter to ati's web development team and tell them to stop being frickin' tools :|

Hmm..It works on other browsers such as Avant Browser. I've only noticed it with Firefox. :confused:

Avant Browser is just a 3rd party tabbed modification for IE - IE is still rendering the page.

Download Deer Park Alpha 2 (Firefox 1.1+, basically on track to firefox 1.5). It's quicker than 1.0.6 and it display's ATI.com correctly.

Actually, thinking twice about that statement, I want to retract it. :eek: Simply because that functionality doesn't exist on other browsers doesn't mean they can't use it. It would have been nice if they wrote an alternative for non-IE browsers that just does a straight pic replacement but, given that it's just advertisement anyways, it's not all that crucial. I can't blame them for not wanting to write browser specific javascript.

Looking on the bright side, they could have achieved a much more, ehm, flashy effect on all browsers using flash so we can at least be glad they resisted that temptation :p
