Mozilla’s plans for Firefox: More partnerships, better add-ons, and faster updates

You know that you can also set flash to ask to activate in the addons menu as well right?

instead of using the Firefox Extended Support version i have now just installed firefox 39 in stead. just read that Mozilla deactivates Flash and it by default in Firefox. Flash should always be disabled.

That's what I've been using for some time (I think I switched from NoScript to that). It's not perfect, for example I sometimes get a prompt at the top of the page asking me if I want to enable Flash on say my online banking site yet I'm certain there is no Flash on that page. It also sometimes doesn't like embedded videos that use Flash (possibly if they're hosted by a third party), but refreshing the page after allowing Flash normally sorts that.

I set some sites to 'always allow Flash', like YouTube. I also have ABP installed.

I wonder why "better security" isn't one of the things they list. If I were them I would certainly want to promote this since the multi-process stuff can better allow it. I suppose it's just par for the course with Mozilla, always shafting the security part.

They should absolutely list that and focus on that. For example, blocking that insecure version of flash. When they finally get multiprocess going, they should push that as well!

Hopefully it won't gobble memory like a certain other browser I can think of.
