Moving

I'll be moving soon and I am wondering how to get rid of some furniture and other big items. Some of it is old so I doubt anybody would want it. I'm thinking about trashing it. How do I go about doing so? How have some of you dealt with getting rid of big items when moving or 'house cleaning?' TIA

Give it away to friends or put it our at the curb, someone wil grab it.

Yes, but you need to get an official receipt with the value of the furniture from Goodwill.
