I have XP installed on a 3GB HD right now (yeah I know, its ancient) and I just got a WD 80 GB SE and want to make it my main drive. What I dont want to do is lose my XP settings by reinstalling.
Is there some way to easily transfer whats on the 3GB to the new one?
I thought of maybe putting the 80 GB in as the secondary drive, backing up the main drive to it with the XP backup tool, and then just switching the cables so the 80 GB is main. Something doesnt feel right though. Could anyone tell me a good way to do this?
Im only semi-literate when it comes to drive hardware, so a nice easy step by step would be just wonderful.

"FILES AND SETTINGS TRANSFER WIZARD" Can transfer all your settings (Check Help to get info about it) after installing Windows XP on your new drive. But you will still need to reinstall your programs.
