For those who are currently using Z77/Z87 platform. How many of you folks planning to migrate to Z97 platform this year?

I myself can't find a good reason to, unless you want massive amount of UBS ports.

Nope. I bought a z77 platform shortly after z87 arrived. I got too good a deal on a 3770k to pass up. And the performance difference was too small to justify. Even now I'm not pushing my rig to its max

I need a new mobo so I might. Bought a gigabyte recently and it had the fooking C1 stepping bug. Less than impressed with that!

Ill likely just jump on a discounted Z87 asus though. Hopefully theres discounts on the maximus VI hero.

Maybe. I'd say if it Z97 supports Broadwell-K, there's no reason to not get a 9 series board. Of course, i'm a fan of selling prior generation parts in the right "time window" so I don't lose much of my investment. That way you can stay relatively up to date without a huge monetary loss.

I could see myself doing that and grabbing a Z97 board. Not sure if i'll go X99 though. Still mulling that one over. Maybe i'll make Z97 my HTPC (replacing my pentium G3220) and i'll replace a 4770k with an x799 platform for the desktop rig. Or maybe i'll throw my current HTPC G3220 and the H81 board into my desktop Cosmos II case. I'm cracking up thinking about that......(ridiculously tiny mobo, huge EATX case..)

Are you still going to x99 for your desktop?

On another note, when are the unlocked K Haswell refresh chips being released. Seems like only the locked ones are out as of now.
