Moving SetiQ to another computer??

I want to upgrade my computer w/ new mobo and hdd. What is the easiest way to get my SetiQ on my new setup?? (Or should I bother)Should I just start from scratch with a new install of SetiQ or try to migrate the existing Q and point clients to the new address. I'm handing over the "old" KT7-Raid to the wife and upgrading to a KR7A-Raid for myself. Out goes the 850 Celeron to the FS/FT forum.

Would it be better to have SetiQ left on the KT7-Raid and just run my new computer as a client?? Open to suggestions here on the best setup. I'm thinking easiest would be leaving on the KT7, but I'd rather have the Q on the KR7A.

Just copy all the folders over to the new box, run the executable, and away you go! 🙂

Poof-
1). Copy all the folders?? = do you mean everthing in my Seti@home folder (SetiDriver, SetiQ, WU's)
2). Run the executable?? = SetiDriver or SetiQ??

Play with me and pretend I'm dumb!!

Do you have SetiQ and seti driver in the same directory (ie C:\Seti\)?

If so, stop Seti on the computer, and close SetiQ. Then, copy the whole folder (like one above) across network or onto CD, and then put it onto your new computer.

Then, run the SetiQ executable and the SetiDriver exe and you will run SetiQ with the same settings as before and all the queued WUs, and also SetiDriver will continue on the WU you were working on before 🙂

If you don't want to copy SetiDriver onto your machine, make sure you keep it on the wife's machine, and install it on yours 🙂

I PM'd him last night but didn't get chance to check back in this thread! 🙂

Hopefully all is well? 😛

I'm going to shut down Seti on my computer, copy the entire folder when I get home and configure my new system tonight (my 20GB ata133 Maxtor just arrived!!). Hopefully this KR7A mobo will play nice for me. My KT7 had some issues with SBLive!- had to reserve an IRQ for it. I have however since built a KT7A w/ SBLive w/ no issues.

JustStarting - if you aren't going to be using any of your Com ports, you could always disable them and that will open up more IRQs for your other devices and the SBLive! (which usually prefers IRQ 5).
