Moving Programs/Files

I am running Windows 7 Professional 64bit on a Kingston SSD. Many programs automatically load to the SSD when I would like them on my WD 500g Black.
What is the best method to move these so that all pointers are updated?

This is for Vista but should work for Windows 7 as well.

First is to move the Progam Files directory back to the drive letter you want it on.

Then see below .. this shows how to move them from C:\
to somewhere else, but you can use it to go back to C:\ .. from say E:\

The installation of most software programs are set by default in the C: Program Files. Below is a means of how to change into another partition.
  • Under Windows Vista, select "Run" from the Start menu.
  • Click Start> Run (or Windows key + R)
  • Type regedit and click OK.
  • Scroll to the key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE SOFTWARE Microsoft Windows CurrentVersion
  • On the right window, double click on the key ProgramFilesDir and modify data in this key by the new path for the installation folder.
  • For example, enter the path Program Files, to change the partition on which the facilities are
