Moving mail from old server to new

I have a new mail server which runs on 2003 and i think is based on(kerio mail server) sendmail. My old server is a Sun RAQ550 based on the linux 2.4 kernel and as far as i know also based on sendmail. I need to get the mail off the old server and onto the new one.

So far downloading the mail through Imap4 with outlook express to a pc, then changing the outgoing/incoming mailserver address and trying to resync doesnt work. Forwarding the messages from outlook to the new account works but just attaches the forwarded email into one big mail.

I was thinking that maybe some sort of relay would work, but i'm not sure exactly what to do.

Any ideas or suggestions?

Sendmail only does SMTP, if you're storing mail on the server then you're using something else to get to it via IMAP4 or POP3.

Just setup a second account in OE for the new server and drag the messages from the first to the second.
