Moving HD w/partitions from one pc to another in win2k

Can this be done? Simply moving a hard drive from one system to another without reformatting it in windows2000. The hard drive is ide, 45 gig and has 3 partitions, c-d-e.

Do I need to set the video to VGA first?

Let me know your thoughts.

IF the drive has your OS on it, I'd recommend:

A) making a backup first. just in case.
b) running sysprep before moving the drive to the new hardware

If you run sysprep, and the new machine uses the same hard drive controller driver and the same HAL, this should be supported.
