Moving Harddrive to New motherboard

OK, running win2k SP2, NTFS, running IDE-no raid, moving from a 815E chipset to a older BX chipset, Ive had about a 50-50 luck(4 tries) in the past having a inaccessable boot device BSOD, anyone know of any tricks before I attempt it for the 5th time in my life? Any help would be great!!

Install the driver for the other chipset, and set the start value to 0 in the registry, before moving the drive.
