They'll never suspect a thing.

If he buys a Sebring convertible, everyone will suspect that he's a tourist and car thieves will try to break into his car.

Maine's one of those states that almost never shows up in the news. It doesn't have a large city and it doesn't have any sports teams (not even a college team).

I don't know much about it, but I bet Maine would be a nice place to live if you could figure out how to earn a decent living there (that might be the problem with it), unless, of course, you like traffic congestion and high population density.

I'm a conservative living in California, and I do just fine...although it does help that we have Arnold, a moderate, in power, and I live in a pretty conservative district.

So, are you gonna flee to the Pacific Northwest once the transition to "Mexifornia" is complete?

Something I didn't know. Hey neighbor!
Well howdy, neighbor! :D

Liberals in the OC? Tell me its not true ;) Just stick around any one of the number of campuses (I'm at UCI;)) and you'll be fine...once you hit all the plastic boxy houses you know there is trouble.

I know huh? Yes, it's true. I'm working on corrupting the GOP from the inside. Muhahahahaha! In 2004, 59.7% recorded votes were by R's whereas 39.0% were by Dems. The OC has not voted for a Democratic presidential candidate since 1936! Zoinks!

Hey now... Maine has one of the best college hockey programs in the country. Heh... I guess only an alaskan would know that...

;)
No worries on the financial front. No worries at all actually. I'm just chomping at the bit to go. I wish I didn't have to wait.

As for what I could be doing... It's -10 today. So I'm inside neffing. If it were oh... say... 78 and sunny... :D

Thank you!!!
Maine Blackbears are one of the best college Hockey teams around.

Life in Maine... we had a high school Hockey Team. When I first moved to Florida in 1994 there was not a Pro hockey team in the state.

What I meant about growing up in a small town is that it is a safer environment for the kids. We could ride our bikes around town at midnight and not worry about a thing.
There was almost no crime etc etc.
Plus small town can mean better education system.
There are just so many pluses to a small town when it comes to having kids.

And Maine is incredibly beautiful. Of course you don't appreciate until you move away, but the coast is amazing :)

Well my largely theoretical answer would be to go with the shutting up and tanning option. I think you'd be surprised at how much you'd like it. Hop back periodically for hunting and family visits...yep, sounds horrible.

P.s - The Unions are huge out there, watch what you say if you're a modern day Union critic! ;)

I dunno, Portland is pretty large. I live in Maine as well, moving away from Balt/DC quite on purpose. Lived here back when I was a kid for a spell too. People are awesome up here, but at times it can seem like the Mississippi of the NE. ;)

We've got lobsta, Bob Marley, the Black Bears, Dogfish Head beer... Could be a lot worse. :D

Maine is a good state, unless you live in Derry. I heard that in Derry, there is this clown that lives in the barrens and kills children...but I also heard that Seth Green kicked his ass...so who knows.
