If I move my non-system IDE HDD from one computer to the other, will I lose the data on the drive? This drive is a slave HDD, and the only other IDE drive on the destination comp is a DVD-RW. Is it ok to keep the DVD writer as a master to the HDD? Thanks for the help.
 
If you move the slave HDD to a slave spot on the new computer, all should go well. You should keep the DVD-RW as master. Good luck 🙂
