i'm moving from upstate ny to jacksonville florida sometime late this summer. most of my furniture is crap and i had intentions of buying new furniture sometime after i got there (maybe 6-8 mos later). i have a few pieces i'd like to keep, but for the most part, it all needs replacing. i'm figuring i could fill my new apartment with 7000 dollars and the few pieces i wanna keep. it's about 900 dollars just to rent a trailor to haul my current stuff. so i'm wondering...

(see poll)

i think it's at or around 100 dollar a mo. difference 'tween furninshed and unfurnished.
average rent where i'm looking is 1000-1200 mo and based on rent calculators my affordability range tops out at almost 1400.

thanks for the advice

Keep your stuff and replace it as you buy new. Furnished just means someone else's bare ass has been all over it. Your choice.

trash anything that's not worth the cost to bring it down. If you have a huge POS dining room table get rid of it. If you have a king bed that is 10 years old w stains from all kind of unmentionable acts then dump it. It's the ratio of size & weight to value that's important if you ask me.
