Here is my situation. I am not a hard core gamer by any means, but I enjoy good quality games and look for quality in a picture.
About three years ago I bought my first FP LCD ? Viewsonic VG175. Main factors that I bought that screen were: cool factor, plus space saving.
Today my expectations have gone beyond what the monitor offers. My video card is Asus geforce 5700 128mb. Neither can I afford a better FP LCD ($500) monitor to get rid of ghosting and blurring in games like UT2004, NFSU2. DOOM3, or to replace the video card for something that can handle all my games in a native FP resolution 1280x1024 ($400 - 6800GT), or get both!hence is my question ? should I go back to CRT screen ? 19? particularly? I can sell my LCD for $200. That $200 can give me a decent 19? CRT and if I spend $50 more, I hoping to get a really nice screen. I am looking to run my desktop @1280x1024@85hz and play games @1024x768@85hz so I am not looking for crazy high resolution such 1600x1200 etc in the CRT monitor. If I can get CRT, I guess my video card will be able to handle games @1024x768 without any major issues (except perhaps Doom3). Can someone give me any opinions? What 19? CRT would you recommend in my price range (200-250)?

Thanks

BTW I have p4 2.8@3.1Ghz

The Samsung that is mentioned in the buying guides on AT is a good one. I like CRT as the pic looks good at any supported res, unlike LCD that really only work well at native res...
