Moving away from tower...

I currently have a Lian li G70 case, which is great for one small problem, it's a tower! While it was just perfect when I got it it doesn't quite fit the bill now.

I am thinking therefore along the HTPC line of thinking and thoughh I would get your expert opinions first.

My setup which will go into the case will be as follows.

EVGA 680i mobo
Q6600 stock (choice of coolers depending on which fits best)
Radeon HD4870
4 gigs ddr2 800
3 HD's all 1 TB
Blu ray reader.
Enermax Modu82+

My first idea was to get a silverstone case, which as i readinto it there wasn't one which was quite what i wanted..

then i saw this

Origen AE S16V

Now this is an expensive case in the UK (£300 or about $550) and i'd quite like some opinion before I splash the cash ideally from someone who might have already have one.

So do you think this will work out ok?

Most HTPC cases aren't particularly good when it comes to cooling - I note there was nothing about cooling in that page you linked - a sign if I never saw one... The Cooler Master Media 280 series (on the old CM North America site) isn't very compact, but it should have better cooling potential than the Origen.

.bh.

Yeah I personally would get a Lian-Li HTPC style case and save a few hundred. That case you linked looked nice but nothing to justify the major price hike.

Why a 680i motherboard with an ATI graphics card? Do you already own the motherboard?

Yeah, had the mobo for a while, it still works well so there was little point in changing it.

I've had a look at the lian li HTPC case and it's quite nice, always had a bit of a soft spot for lian li. However the minor snag is that no-one seems to sell it in the UK, which sucks.

i wanted the S21T for a while.

However i saw the case i want. Microcool's bachetto.
