I'm moving with a friend of mine at the end of August from the Riverside CA area to Portland OR. We have a pretty tight bugdet and we want to keep as much stuff (like couches and desks) as we can. Searching uhaul, budget and Pods ranges fomr $1200-$2600. This is way out of budget. Have any of you moved recently? How did you do it? We can probably rework our budget but it will make things all that much tighter.
 
All i can say is DO NOT use UHAUL, its very likely that you will get stuck with a truck/van that will break down on you somewhere along the drive.

Seconded. Avoid UHaul. Ryder, Budget, etc, anything but UHaul imo.
