Moving a VM from ESX to Hyper-V?

I have a couple of VMs on an older install of ESX 3.5 build 153875, and I want to import them into Hyper-V.

I tried to add the ESX host to SCVMM so I could do the migration but it did not work. I am not using a VirtualCenter Server to manage it but just logging into the server directly using the VMWare Infrastructure Client.

Do I have to upgrade to ESX 3.5 update 5 (June 2011) first in order for this to work?

Or do I have any other options?

Saw that page before.. what if I don't have System Center 2012 but only 2008 R2?

use a trial?

or maybe a trial copy of some backup software that can backup/restore to different VM hosts?

/ i have used SSR 2013, I have used SSR 2011 to restore to dissimilar hardware or a vm from a backup of a physical machine, i HAVE NOT backed up a VM from ESXi and restored it to a VM in hyper-v

The starwind program seems to work converting the file but I have some questions -

First you have to remove the VMware tools before converting right?

Then after it is in Hyper-V you install the Hyper-V integration tools?

What is the best way to setup the network card? If the VM has a static IP, and the network card on the host is on the same subnet, then you shouldn't have to change any settings right?

Also, do I have to worry about making the MAC address the same on the VM after it is on the new host?

Oh, sorry, I forgot about this thread.
When Ive used it, Ive converted the Vmware VM to HyperV, then after booting up in HyperV, Ive uninstalled the vmware tools, rebooted, then installed the hyperv tools.
I guess you could uninstall the vm tools before converting too.
