Whether at home or in a theater. And if it bothers you at all that you've seen them so many times if you have. Watching over half the movie again counts as a repeat view I'd say. Watching the whole thing each time would be the best but I haven't done that with most of my repeat viewings. Which is kind of wimpy, anyway my top 10 which may not be in any order are
1. Jurassic Park and the two sequels,
most of each of them over 70 times, all of each of them around 20 times.
2. Knight and Day, starring Cameron Diaz and Tom Cruise,
most of it about 40 or 50 times, the whole movie about 8 times
3. Terminator 2
most of it about 50 times, the whole thing about 10 times
4. The Lord of the Rings trilogy
most of all three about 40 times, all of all of them about 5 times
5. Enchanted, starring Amy Adams,
most of it about 40 times, all of it about 5 times.
6. The Phantom of the Opera, 2004, starring Emmy Rossum,
over half of it about 30 times, the whole thing about 5 times
7. First Blood, starring Sly Stallone, (first in the Rambo series)
most of it about 50 times, the whole thing about 10 times.
8. Avatar
most it about 70 times, the whole thing about 10 times
9. Indiana Jones series,
Most of the 1st & 2nd ones about 50 times each, all of both of them about 20 times I guess.
10. Men in Black series
Most of the 1st & 2nd ones about 30 times each, all of both about 20 times.
I wonder if it's a sign of anything troubling to watch my favorite parts of movies over and over. It's probably just a little entertainment. I may have understated the number of repeat views on some of them, not sure.
And one more thing if it makes any difference. I rarely watch any of them over again on a dvd or blue ray player. Watching them from a broadcast/cable/pay per view/streaming seem like more of a dynamic event because I know there are people behind the scenes who got them to function properly and possibly monitoring their status.
Edit 1: Dang forgot 3 more, so now it's a top 10 list\
Edit 2, Edit 3 and more Edits: Ah forgot about Galaxy Quest and The Fifth Element from reading the replies. And oh lord forgot all about Scary Movie 4, Bruce Almighty, Evan Almighty, Groundhog Day, Coming To America, Trading Places, Bewitched (with Nicole Kidman), Land Of The Lost (Will Ferrell), Meet The Spartans, The Hot Chick, Full Metal Jacket, and Platoon..Uh oh some more I've seen many times over (and again that's most of the movie watched on repeat views) that I neglected to list are True Lies, Air Force One, War of the Worlds (2005), Apocalypto, Clear and Present Danger, The Time Machine, Apocalypse Now, and all of the Die Hard series except the fifth one...Now the post is out of control, I forgot about Contact, Dances With Wolves, Broken Trail, Jumanji, Waterworld, and 2012. Also cleaned up this post somewhat by removing sequels that I listed as seeing only 3 or 4 times.
