I recently saw 'The Getaway' with Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger, two actors I don't really like, and was surprised at how much I liked the movie. What movies do you like even though you don't like the lead actors?

I'll also add 'A Perfect World', even though I think Costner is a terrible actor.

Watch Mr. Brooks and I can guarantee you will change your mind about Costner

I forgot that movie. I agree, his role was poorly cast.

Running Scared with Paul Walker.

He was surprisingly good in that movie. Prolly gonna fuck it up with that new Fast and Furious movie though...

The Butterfly Effect. I wrote off the movie on Kutcher alone, but ended up liking it a lot and thought he was well cast.

Another one I'd forgotten. I wrote it off too, but realized Kutcher can act - if he wants to.

Kingdom of Heaven. Bloom--so poorly cast for that role.

He was perfect in Troy though. He's such a pussy, just like his character. The complete opposite of what was needed for KoH.

yeah, lot of hate for Costner...I think he does some pretty good stuff, some not so much.

He was great in Mr Brooks, though.

That whole movie was poorly cast/written/directed, etc.... :)

I really liked that movie too.

Mine is The Matrix. No matter how much I like that movie I can't stand Keanu Reeves. He has probably the worst acting skills on the planet.

I saw that when it came out, but suspect I'd like it less now. IIRC, Andy Garcia wasn't very good in that either.

One of my favourite movies.

I hope you mean Tom Cruise as just about everyone else is stellar. Even he wasn't too bad but still managed to be the weakest of the bunch. I still can't get over what an amazing actor Philip Seymour Hoffman is, have yet to see him in a movie where I am not stunned by his performance.

I like Kubrick's version of The Shining, although I never really liked Shelley Duvall as an actress.

Also was perfectly cast in Bill and Ted Excellent Adventure. liked George Carlin in that one too.

I don't like Bruce Willis but I still love The Fifth Element. Ditto for Edward Furlong and Terminator 2 + American History X. I also dislike Oliver Reed but like Tommy.
