movies with math or mathematicians

can anybody think of movies rated less than R that have math involved?

my girlfriend wants to a) have a free day where she doesn't have to have lessons and b) try to get some of the less interested kids interested.

these are semi-autistic kids so rain man is no good. a beautiful mind also shows a math guy going nuts. of course pi is inappropriate but that guy goes nuts too.

edit: (they're high school aged)

Was A Beautiful Mind less than R?

I know there was a decent movie once upon a time that portrayed Albert Einstien or some such...

edit: I should have read the rest of the OP, lol

EDIT: Saw you mention Beautiful Mind already.

Good Will Hunting is rated R I believe. Great movie though, watch it with your girl sometime you guys'll like it.

IQ. With Meg Ryan. But that was more of a romantic comedy without any math whatsoever.

What about Stand And Deliver

Pi 😛

In October Sky they used math. That would be a really good at school movie, it's a true story about these kids building rockets in some mining town and then grew up to design rockets for NASA.

stand and deliver and october sky sound good.

but yeah there are several great movies with math dudes involves but it's always about them being crazy or else they ignore it.

not like other sciences and especially like computer programming, they love to romanticize that.

when dealing with semi-retarded kids i like to just give one a gun and see what happens.
Or you could give one a stick and tell him/her to beat another one with it, allways good for a laugh.
hmmmmmmmm........
Show them bright flashing lights and try to induce coma or somthing?

Pearl Harbor.

They can count the number of plot points that suck.

assuming of course, they can count that high. 😉
