Movies Too Dark...

I just reformat & reinstall winxp pro. Got the latest nvidia.com driver for my geforce ti4800, latest version of klite codec pack, and windows media player 10. For some reason, all of my movies appears really dark and i can hardly make out anything (problem exist with windows media player 10 and windows media classic).

I know it must be a software/codec problem so i reformat and reinstall windows and everything all over...but alas, still the same problem.

can someone help me?

 
I'm not sure about your geforce ti4800, but I know a lot of video cards have an "overlay contrast/brightness" setting. The overlay settings would just change the brightness/contrast levels of movies. Do you have any idea if you have that setting anywhere?
