There are three movies that stand out in my mind as movies that I had to watch at least twice, if not more, because of some odd twist about them that just made you go... hmm...
I'd like to post the three standing out in my mind and ask if there are any others you can think of, I'm sure there are, and I actually like these kinds of movies, especially when I'm surprised by the twist.
Be warned, if you read this post you might get a spoiler of a movie you haven't seen.
Movie #1: Memento
You simply have to see this movie twice, if you've seen it once you know why. This movie is excellently directed. The scenes are revealed to you in reverse order for a reason, the main character has no memory of what happened before, so the director brings you into that by making sure you have no knowledge of what happened prior.
This is a very odd feeling. I loved this movie for how it made me feel confused and unaware of what was really happening. It was pretty cool and I had to watch it again just to try and make some sense of what really went on. Even after making it through a third time, rewinding scenes to pick out details, I still don't know what exactly happened. Its quite a film and I really highly recommend you see it if you haven't.
Movie #2: Fight Club
I have to say this is one movie where the plot twist didn't hit me until right when it was revealed. Call me dense if you want to, but I still have trouble making sense of some of the scenes knowing the twist. Especially the scene where they are stealing the "fat" to make the soap with... I have a hard time understanding that one.
Good movie, nonetheless, though this is one movie my wife hates and can't understand why I like it. Oh well.
Movie #3: The Sixth Sense
I guessed the odd twist this movie had before it was revealed, a good bit before it was revealed but I still had to watch it again. Thought the symbolism, if not obvious, was kinda cool in a way. However, I found myself watching it closely for places where they might mess up...
Anyway I'm sure there are many others. I'm not looking for movies you had to watch again because they were really good, but movies you had to watch again because the first time through you went "huh?"
