Movies set back in a certain time period that "predict the future"

Does this bother you when movies do this?

Example from Almost Famous:
"If you think that Mick Jagger will still be doing the whole rock star thing at age fifty, well, then, you are sorely, sorely mistaken."

or in Titanic:
"What's his name- Picasso? He'll never amount to anything!"

Discuss and think of other examples.

I find the movies that don't do it intentionaly more amusing. LIke the movies taht predict the technology we would have in 2005 like flying cars and robots

I think that Minority Report is right on track...at least with people "herding" and advertising

I've been meaning to figure out what time period Pulp Fiction is set in. Vincent was using a cell phone in the car a few times, and The Wolf drove an NSX (introduced early 90s IIRC), yet the rest of it seemed 70s-ish.

you didnt do the obvious one marty?!?
Dr. Emmett Brown: Then tell me, "future boy", who is president in the United States in 1985?
Marty McFly: Ronald Reagan.
Dr. Emmett Brown: Ronald Reagan? The actor? Who's Vice President? Jerry Lewis?
Marty McFly: What?
Dr. Emmett Brown: I suppose Jane Wyman is the first lady. And Jack Benny is secretary of the treasury. I've had enough practical jokes for one evening. Good night, future boy.

But these events have actually happened before the movie was made.

We already know what happened to Picasso.

How about movies that actually predict a future they know nothing about?

*Bad Example* BTTF2 - predicting world series winner.

Right, that's why Im saying it's annoying because it's kind of cheesy. It's meant for the audience to think "boy were THEY wrong" whereas BTTF opens up the door to your imagination (or did at the time) to wonder if they would predict it right.
