Movies in One game Play WAY too fast

I am playing an older game (Wing Commander Prophecy).

The game works just fine, but when movies play they run in quadruple speed. They have sound, but in about 2 seconds a 30 second movie will play.

At first I thought that it might be a codec issue, so I installed the K-Lite codec pack in the hopes of fixing it.

I also ran the game in win98 compatibility mode, and that hasn't helped.

Anyone else have any suggestions?

I googled "Wing Commander Prophecy video problems" I think! Hope trying those steps on the link I posted gets the cutscenes in the game to play at normal speeds.
