Mmm.. surprisingly I'd give that movie a 3 out of 5. I was planning on it being horrible and was at least entertained. Probably would never watch it again, but wasn't disgusted.

agreed.... one of my friends swears his life on that movie though.... /shrug
 
I'm looking forward to it for a number of reasons, although I'm also able to put aside the fact that Tom Cruise is a Scientologist and have the profound realization that a movie is comprised of more than one actor and shouldn't be brought down because of that one mans religious persuasion, but I digress.
 
Comeback? When did he ever really fail except for Mission Impossible 2 and his Scientology shit. War of the World was good, Collateral was pretty good and he older movies are amazing (especially Interview with the Vampire and Magnolia).

I can't say Valkyrie with an American, with no attempt to hide the accent, is envouraging. However, I hear that the introduction takes care of that slightly. Obviously, the best would be be with Germans speaking German; see Der under-something or "Downfall".
 
Bad pick for a great movie? Mind you I hate Tom Cruise so... As Imp said see Downfall, absolutely amazing depiction of the last days of Hitler, will stay with you. They really should make a movie about this historic incident but this won't be it.

Cruise has long been a flake and he wasn't ever that great of an actor. His past few movies haven't been that great and box office receipts show that. Not to mention UA has been a complete disaster hidden from the public.
 
I'm expecting this movie to be really bad. It seems movies about evens like the attempted assasination of Hitler tend to assume that big stars and a dramatic event (germans trying to assasinate hitler) are enough by themselves to make a good movie.

Some of the lines they show in the trailer make me assume that the script will be awful.

I'd love to be surprised by the film, though, if it does well on RT I'll go see it.
