Movie/TV Guns

Seriously, what the hell is up with all the rattling that takes place when an actor moves around a gun in a movie, television show, etc.? They sound like they have dried beans bouncing around inside.

My favorite is when you hear the distinctive noise of a hammer being pulled back on something like a Glock.

I think that was his point. 😉

I think that was his point, about inaccuracies in TV shows and movies about guns.

OP, I definitely know what you're talking about when it sounds like there's dried beans inside of the guns. That and the rare occurrence of a reload are my two main gripes.

Ahhh...yeah, got it. That's what I get for not really reading between the lines as it were while trying to work. Doh!

I like the revolvers with 30 chamber cylinders.

How about a revolver with a silencer attached? That's one of my personal favs.
Hahaha I don't think I've seen one of those

seems like a dirty harry movie had this... maybe the 2nd one? magnum force?

My biggest gripe is how handguns will be able to fire off a couple dozen shots before they need reloading, and anything bigger can fire off a couple hundred...

i love how the bad guys fire 100000 shots and never hit anything. but the good guy fired 3 times and kills 8 bad guys

I like how they always pull the bolt for no reason at all.

I like how they never run out of ammo even when they've fired non stop for 15 minutes. More so for pistols which fire about 20 times before reloaded.

I like how professional mercenaries can't hit a target from 20 feet.

or how everyone at CTU is a complete idiot and gets taken out within the first 2 minutes but somehow jack bauer manages to survive

I seem to remember a few campy TV shows from the 80s. Haven't seen that one recently though.

Let's not forget the movie magic firearms with ZERO recoil. My personal favorite was the full auto .45 pistols in Face/Off, which you could shoot about 20 rounds (out of an 8 round magazine) at full auto, without the pistol rising even one millimeter from the recoil!!

Yeah, guns that shoot blanks will do that.

semi auto pistols that go click-click-click when they're empty

or for that matter, the fact that every movie gun sounds like a 105mm howitzer

I always chuckle when people in movies and TV throw their firearms on the ground once they run out of ammunition like it's just a used up condom now, no use to anyone.

Another favorite of mine is the pistol round that blows the victim completely off his feet and through a wall, fired from the magically recoil free firearm.

😕
What's wrong with that?

There's a few millimeters distance between the cylinder and the barrel, while a silencer might muffle some of the muzzle blast it still will not be quiet due to the escaping gases between the cylinder and the barrel.
