Haven't you seen Dark City? It came out a while before Matrix did, Keefer Sutherland is in it. It basicly has the same plot as the Matrix just better.

It's actually really good. Instead of being hooked up to a computer people were kidnapped from earth by aliens.

Yeah i've seen Dark City. It is very similar to The MAtrix, but i wouldn't say Matrix=Dark City.

I don't know, I think it could almost be the prequel. If the whole spaceship thing was actually just a illusion and the aliens could be agents.
