Movie Trivia Question # 2

The movie: Resident Evil with Mila Jojovich (sp?). I never played the game, so possibly this has to be answered by someone who has.

At the beginning of the movie, Mila's character wakes up in the shower, with no memory of who she is. As she is getting dressed, she looks in the mirror, and notices a scar on her shoulder. The movie makes it a point to linger on this scar for a moment. Now go to the end of the movie, Mila's character wakes up on a hospital bed wearing a skimpy paper gown thing. She is hooked up to machines and stuff. She gets off the bed, and you can see a very fresh wound in exactly the same place as the scar was at the very beginning of the movie.

What? Does this mean something that I can't figure out? Can someone explain this to me?

Someone once told me the movie did a poor job of sticking to the games. I was never lucky enough to have a console system in order to play the games, I wish I had, the games looked badass.
