That's been going since 2008. Sometimes those really long threads cause forum problems. Just start a new one. You can always link to the old one in it.

We were directed to close all "large" threads as they seem to be the main culprit in forum slow-downs.

I have already pm'ed KT that he is free to start a new one with a link to the old one in the OP. I feel the honor of starting one should be his. Agreed?

Thanks For the explanation Perknose. And yes, KT should indeed have the honor :)

I would think that the forum software is decent, and only a limited amount of posts are queried from the database when the thread is opened (max of 100), so it seems to me as if a two page thread and a 100 page thread would have the same draw on the DB.

Am I mistaken?

That's a question someone from HQ would have to answer. The Staff is just in charge of overseeing the membership for the most part, not the technical aspects of the site.

Does the AT technical staff have a representative active here?
