Movie theatre !! Is this normal !!

Some of the people I know get one movie ticket and watch more than one movie with that ticket. Is this something normal ? Coz I thought I ticket was meant for one movie. At time I have seen people entering from the exit. What the hell is that ?

it's called movie hopping and it's normal for those who are too cheap to buy another ticket.

Why is it that these people don't get caught.
Do they even catch them ?

It means they bought a ticket for one movie, hung around the theater without going past the drop box for another movie to start, and then went in to see that movie. If they're entering through the exit, that means either an employee is letting them in or they're blocking the door so it doesn't close so they can re-enter. The theater I used to work in had alarms for the exit doors. If they're open for too long, a very annoying alarm goes off.

I understand people hanging around if they are a touch early, but who the hell would wan't to watch the last part of a movie. Most of them do it intentionally, to watch two movies. Why don't they catch em ? It is definitely annoying when you find all the seats gone and people who haven't paid for the movie sitting and enjoying where as you looking for seats !!

wow .. you've never seen or heard about movie hopping?

my cousins plan all day things to do it. last time i saw like 4 movies in a row.

It's hard movie hopping because one movie completely drains me. The best I ever did was watch 3 movies in a row.

Why don't they get caught? Haven't you seen how many people are at the theaters? Unless it's opening day, they're not checking your ticket stub.

I know a guy - and this is not a joke, because he'll admit it - who has gone into a theater after pulling this trick and picked up somebody's large drink, gone into the bathroom to rinse the cup, and claimed a free refill on it. I think he does the same thing with popcorn too.

We all know you're talking about yourself Skoorb.

man...i've done some really bad things...for a group of 8, we bought 2 tickets.....used stubs to go in and out to bring everyone else in...and hopped for 3 movies...

yeah...

🙁

*takes off all his clothes so he can be flamed to the max, seems deserving enough* 🙁

We call this movie sunday. Usually you time it so right when one gets out you go into the other. 3 is about the max I can do. I think our record was 6 movies in 1 day...I couldn't watch another movie for a month.

The thing is after the 1st movie you really wouldn't ever pay or ever see the other movies. Normally you'd just not see them. I'm not really trying to justify...just saying.

I knew a guy in college that re-used the same popcorn bag for 3 years. He'd borrow a few pieces of popcorn from someone else to put in the bottom so it wouldn't be totally empty when he went to refill it. He finally had to retire it because they changed the design on the bags.

It's very hard to check every single person's ticket stub, especially during the weekend. And at the multiplexes, they're not going to spend more money by placing an usher at every single theater to check stubs. That would just be a waste of manpower.

I remeber doing quite a bit of theater hopping during the hot days of summer back in high school. The people working there were totally aware of what was going on but since they were usually our age and more often than not classmates no one cared. They don't usually fill up an entire theatre for every showing anyway..... ahhh I now feel justified and cleansed of my sins....

Generally, the only time stubs are checked is if the show has sold out. Most theatres will have people checking then to avoid any seating problems. Otherwise, unless it is a huge problem for that particular theatre, staff will not take much notice.

I have seen people taking popcorn bags and cups out of the garbage to get free refills. That is pretty cheap and gross.

I once went to three movies & a baseball game in 1 day.
