I find myself watching this movie over and over and over... I don't know what about it makes me love this film so much. Is it because of Zhang Ziyi? I was already a fan of Ziyi after CTHD, but this film explores a softer side of her and reaffirms my belief that she is a wonderful actress. But a pretty girl doesn't make a movie...or does it? The film's plot is amazingly simple yet the way the story is told makes it so mesmerizing. The film is directed by Zhang Yimou (Raise the Red Latern) which may explain why. Add in a beautiful soundtrack and I do believe this film is going into my small collection of all time favorites.
