Movie: The Martian w/ Matt Damon, Sean Bean & Ridley Scott

Paratus

It's based on the actually quite good book by the same name.

Damon plays the astronaut stranded on Mars. Bean plays a NASA flight director.

Which begs the question: How is Sean Bean supposed to die in Mission Control? 😕

Heart attack.

Just checked IMDB to see what they have.

Director: Ridley Scott. 😱
The rest of the cast actually looks pretty good too:

Kristen Wiig and Donald Glover......

Makes me think they'll keep the humor from the book.

Now please no Damon Lindelof. Please no Damon Lindelof.

At the most tense moment the computers will crash and in true movie fashion sparks will shoot out of the terminals which will ignite Sean's tie, wrapping his head in a fatal ring of fire. Easy-peasy, it's not rocket science. Okay, okay, in this case it actually is rocket science.

That might work for the movies but I can tell you I've never had a workstation blow up on me.

However they did find an alligator recently in one of the ponds near the MCC, (mission control center). :hmm:

I definitely recommend the book.

Read the book a few months ago. Hopefully the movie will do justice.
I don't recall anyone dying.... 😉

Nice choice of video. I was expecting something from Star Trek.

It's sort of depressing that in the roughly 300 years or so that pass between Wargames and Star Trek nobody manages to fix the problem. You'd think they'd make the consoles out of transparent aluminum to cut down on the explosions.

I think I saw this one already.
When the team arrives to rescue him, he sabotages the robot and sets it to explode killing the black guy.

So do we have a AToT pool going yet on the if and how?

Actually, after watching the trailer...he must die pretty early 🙂 I didn't see him at all.

Looks good.
