Movie related software, advice needed

Hi,

I need advice for 2 situations:

Situation nº1:

I have a home movie file in my computer. It's an avi, and is divx encoding (could be anything else, for that matter). I created some subtitles and they are stored in a .sub file.

Once uppon a time, I used a program called RadLight, to show the movie with subtitles. The process was simple. I choosed the file (open) with the movie, then I choosed the file (open) with the subtitles, and the software merge both into a nice looking subtitled film. I could even change the font type and size, I believe.

Now a few months back, I reinstalled RadLight, just to find (with the help of my firewall), that the software was infested with AdWare and/or SpyWare. So I just uninstalled it, and I'm here asking if there is any other software that can do the trick, without Ad/Spy Ware accompaining.

Situation nº2:

I need to pick a film (from situation nº1), pick the subtitle file, and merge them into a nice looking divx file with subtitles included, so I can burn to CD, and so that I can show it to my family in my living room. How can I do it?

Thank you.
