Movie nostalgia

I was having some movie nostalgia lately, so I just ordered the Mad Max trilogy and the Indiana Jones complete set on DVD.

Those were such great movies. They're still great today too, not like most of the crap that Hollywood is producing now. There's so many 80s movies that were great and even the sequels were great. I can watch these movies over and over and never get tired of them.

It seems to me that those actors were better than today's too. Maybe it's because the actors and film crew didn't rely on special effects to make a movie. I'm tired of seeing movies made just to show off special effects. give me a story!

why spend your money on that when you can check them out free whenever you feel like it at your local library?

i live in a small rural town. i doubt my library even has movies to rent. i haven't been there in years though.

I have fond memories of taking a school trip in 8th grade to the movie theater to see it. This was in 99-00 too so it was a fun experience.

Maybe it was a rrreeeaaaallllyyy long bus trip :p

I know what you mean. I grow weary of all the remakes & recently the comic book stories-made-into-movie. I never saw the Spider Man movies but i haven't seen any others i liked, even from comic books i liked as a kid.

I guess i doesn't matter what era you're in, you need a good story first & formost.
