Movie "Monster" with Charlize Theron: great movie.

What's next? A movie that portrays Ted Bundy or Jeffrey Dahmer as helpless victims of society?

While she was a great in the movie, I thought the movie wasn't that great. I have to agree with Vic, it portrays this murderer as helpess victims of society.

Make up on her was really good though, if you didn't know it was her, you probably wouldn't have guessed.

Yeah, it was entirely a vehicle for her character and nothing else...not much to the movie, Ricci's character didn't even have much impact. But man was it weird to realize that that was Charlize...the first time you see her w/o clothes on, and you see how much her body changed...sh*t man.

*SPOILER*

that scene with the "stick"... the first guy that she killed.... I nearly threw up...

*spoiler space end*

Apparently the family members of the victims are very very upset about this movie.
They said it is complete fiction and portrays all her victims as John's and her crimes as self-defense when in fact that isn't true at all.
I'll probably still see it, but will treat it as fiction, not a true story.

I have to agree, it's no excuse to kill all those people. I'm just saying, I'm so glad that I didn't have such a f*cked up childhood like she did. I'm sure, some things are overdone(just a guess, after all, it's a hollywood movie). Raped since you are 8 years old, a hooker since 13? Not everyone can go to college and can afford these things. Just my thoughts.

The movie doesn't portray that it was all self-defense. The first one, if true, surely was, and afterwards, she just went nuts.
