What is the best movie manager program that you can add any movies to from IMDB if they don't already exist?

I tried a lot and still can not find one I like.

I just use Plex. Works well. Not a pure client, but nothing stopping you from having both server and client on the same machine. If it can't match your media, you can manually assign information and cover art.

Other than Plex, I like the Collectorz software quite a bit:

http://www.collectorz.com/movie/

But if you're not aware of Plex's capabilities, not only is it a movie player, but it also scrapes the metadata for your movies and can present them in a web interface. So depends on how you want to access your information.

What do you mean by "manage?" If you're looking for something to just add metadata and images, look at Media Center Master, metabrowser, and maybe YAMM.

If these aren't working properly, the fault is almost always in how the media folders are organized.

I'm not aware of a self-contained program like that, but I know of two websites. Ttrakd and follw.it have plugins for media center (media browser), XBMC, and lots of other players that automatically update the website. I use this with media browser, and it updates what I have watched/not watched between several TV's in the house.
