There are many amusing snippets of haiku wit all over the 'Net. I've found several sites (like this one) that offer little synopses of movies. Finding this amusing, I noodled around for about five minutes and came up with a few. Anyone who would like to do likewise is invited to share similar bits of fluff (If we gather enough of them, perhaps we can knit an epic.)
My initial efforts:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I highly recommend the composition of silly haiku as a mental decongestant. Ahhhh, all the philosophical pomposity is drained from the self, if only for a moment, and the pleasant absurdity of one's existence hangs weightlessly in the air in much the same way that a brick doesn't.
My initial efforts:
- FIGHT CLUB
Poor Ed Norton, whose
Alter ego is Brad Pitt
No unique snowflake
- ERIN BROCKOVICH
No doubt about it
The star of this movie is
Julia Roberts' bra
- HANNIBAL
Ray Liotta gives
Food for thought to Doc Lecter
A piece of his mind
- THE MATRIX
Bill is gone, but whoa!
Ted's Excellent Adventure
Is a real head trip
- STAR WARS, EPISODE ONE
Much excitement, yet
Fans' main reaction was this:
Jar Jar Binks must die
- STAR WARS, EPISODE TWO
Nothing is certain
In George Lucas' universe
But Darth and taxes
