K I installed the new forceware drivers for my 6800 but now all my movie files (avi mpeg etc) look funny. They are in color but it looks like an 8bit version of it. What is going on? It also happens in any media player (WMP, WINDVD, ETC). Can anyone help me out???

That's the kind of quality you get for buying nVidia 😉

Nah seriously, nVidia's drivers just suck ass.

In this thread, humey explains how to fix the problem.

If you can't get that to work for you, just uninstall those drivers, & install an older version.

Download this

This is a reg file fix for the problem you're having.

As far as nVidia's drivers 'sucking ass', pointing fingers wouldn't be wise right now (shall we talk about the VPU recovery problem with several versions of ATi's drivers right now, causing crashes for a ton of people?....wow...let's see..gamma problem vs. VPU recovery crash..lemme think about that for a sec).

I didn't make it obvious enough...i was being sarcastic.

I also do like rubbing in issues with nVidia's drivers, since a lot of people here have this silly idea ATi's are worse, when both nVidia & ATi's have had issues & continue to 😉

Also, i have seen about ten threads on that video overlay issue on the latest Forcewares, & zero on the VPU issue with ATi 😉

Google it. You'll find plenty.

I'll be the first to admit there's no such thing as a perfect driver, but your post didn't need all the excess crap. 😛
