Movie: Descent Part 2

This is the sequel to the movie Descent back in 2005.

I loved the original as a psychological thriller movie till it turned into a monster flick. (Think the movie Sunshine.)

I'm watching it now, but not holding high expectations since it's probably a monster flick. (Returning to the caves infested w/crawlers.)

I LOVED the first one.
Cannot remember which ending I liked more. Whichever one left it more up in the air (I think that was the original), while the other was all like an "omg bunnies and roses!" type ending.


Didn't even know there was a sequel. Figures, even after the first one's success, they don't secure a US release near the UK release.

Awe....it's a perfect setup for something like...Decent 2 - The Ascention....

I don't remember a bunnies and roses ending? Which one was that?

The two endings I saw were:

1) Chick gets out, and is driving away from the cave when she turns to see the other chick's (black haired girl) ghost sitting in the passenger seat. - Think that was the US ending.
2) Chick gets out, something happens, maybe she leaves? I don't really remember, maybe she sees the ghost in this ending as well? But then she wakes back up underground and she never really got out. - Think that was the UK ending.

Yeah I was exaggerating with the bunnies and roses.

It was just the imagery of one ending was very grim, the other, while there was a ghost, was not grim in the least. Escaped, versus not having escaped.

I liked the UK ending much more, if that truly was the UK ending. Fairly sure I remember reading at the time of release that the UK ending was as described, and I enjoyed it far more.

In the copy I watched (HDDVD i think) the ending was

the woman hallucinating her daughter and a birthday cake, then a zoom out showing a ton of creatures crawling around in various tunnels all around her

and an alternate ending that I don't remember all of but she

got out of the cave, found the truck drove around and then hallucinated the asian girl she stabbed in the leg and nearly getting splattered by a semi

but I could've swore in the alternate ending

the birthday cake, that's the "alternate" ending that I saw which I thought was the UK. I might have my endings switched, though.

Although I don't agree with this view, but I vaguely remember reading a viewer's theory that those monsters were actually the main character's imagination and she killed all her friends, or was somehow responsible for their deaths.

I just thought they were killed by those creepyass monsters and the movie scared me. I loved the movie(the non-US ending).
