Movember is fast approaching..

Movember began as a fund-raising effort in Australia a few years back and quickly spread to NZ, but as far as I know it never gained much traction in USA. Most people around here don't bother with the fund raising aspect, we just do it for a month of fun and self-humiliation.

The idea is that you grow a mustache for the month of November. That's all there is to it. I was thinking it could be a god opportunity for a month-long mustache-growing festival right here on ATOT. I've done half-assed attempts the last couple of years but this time I'm keen to do the whole month. Anyone with me? You'd have to be willing to post pictures of yourself, of course.

Currently I have a mustache and beard.

The one time I went mustache only, I ended up looking like Farva from Super Troopers. On purpose.

This year, for Halloween I can't decide if I want to be Billy Mays, or Mark Whitacre (The Informant!). In either case, there will be a ticklestache.

I could grow an epic 'stache in a month (I'm Indian; we practically invented mustaches :p) but I'm afraid I might actually like it

I've heard some people here refer to "No-shave November," but I've never associated it with fundraising. Not even sure how you could raise money by having people not shave. Donate money that would have gone to buying razors to charity?

couldnt grow a mustache if I tired, just ends up as spotty hair growth under my chin, on my cheeks and on my neck.

Movember = mustache growing in november? Wow... that's a stretch. When I first read it I thought it was some stupid fucking attempt to get people to get off their ass and MOVE during november.

did i win yet?

Some people grow beards during Movember, but it's generally frowned upon. Most people look good, or at least reasonable, with a beard, but mustaches look terrible on 99% of people.

Full beard (give or take some spottiness) since last fall and not willing to give it up. We're coming up on our first anniversary!
